Flamboyant Tree, Mauritius

This card was sent by Evelyne from Mauritius whom I met on Interpals. It shows the flamboyant tree with its bright red flowers.  This tree can be found also in most of the Caribbean islands and other countries such as India, Sudan, the Florida Keys. It is really a nice site to see those trees when they are in full bloom.

I'm starting off this eek's posting with a map card from Mauritius. I just love receiving mapcards there's just something about them I can't describe.  Mauritius according to Tasneem is a small island (2040 km squared) with a population of 1.8 million.  The official language is English but they speak French and Mauritian Creole.
