Fox Glacier
Fox Glacier is located in Westland National Park. The Glacier was named after the Prime Minister of New Zealand in 1862 William Fox.
It reminds of the mountains in the scene of the Lord of the Rings tt when Sauramon was chanting so that the mountain could fall on Gandalf and the others. Maybe it was the very same one.

Atacama Desert
The Atacama Desert is found in Chile. Towards the ending of winter in the Southern Hemisphere after heavy rainfall excess water tranforms the normally dry, arid landscape into a spring garden bringing to life the millions of seeds, bulbs and insects that lie beneath the surface of the desert
Thanks to Hernan a fellow postcard blogger for this postcard.

Dyrholaey, Iceland
One of two postcards from the volcanic European country of Iceland. It shows a view over Dyrholaey, a 120 meter high headland in which a natural gate has been eroded. The formations mark the southernmost point of Iceland. In the background the glacier of Eyjafjallajokull can be seen. I must say its a very breathtaking view.
Thanks Maria!

Rocky Mountain National Park
Well today is my birthday and I'm starting off this posting with this postcard of the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Established by President Woodrow Wilson on January 26, 1915, Rocky Mountain National Park is home to a variety of wildlife including mountain lions, bighorn sheep, and an elk herd nearing 3000. The 415 square mile park's large animal population makes it one of the country's top wildlife watching destinations.
Thanks Dede for one of two postcards. I also loved the stamps on the enevelope.

Chile
This postcard was sent to me by fellow blogger Hernan from Chile. It is a multiview card which shows different images of Chile. Chile has an extraordinary diversity in geography. The north is dry and hot, there are valleys in the centre, and then lakes & forests in the south and finally ice. There is also the mysterious Rapa Nui (Easter Islands) with its Ahu where Moai statues are standing. Also there is Chiloe Islands with their own cuisine & mythology with houses on stilts. The Atacama desert is also located in Chile
Thanks again Hernan.
